Masters Movers, a Portland moving company, has been moving people for 30 years. It offers a full suite of local moving services. It also provides interstate and even international moving through its partners — Steven’s Worldwide Van Lines and Wheaton Worldwide Van Lines.

Overall Score: 6.3/10

  • Value: 6/10 — Don’t expect big savings from Master Movers. It doesn’t offer discounts, and it charges a standard moving rate.
  • Customer experience: 5/10 — Master Movers gets mostly positive reviews from customers. The complaints, though, include lots of accusations of theft.
  • Credibility: 8/10 — Like any reputable moving company, Master Movers has current registration and insurance. Its affiliates look good, too.

Bottom line: Master Movers is a legitimate moving company, but the complaints about stolen items make us wary. We recommend other, better-reviewed companies in the area. Credible national moving brands like Mayflower Moving and Two Men And A Truck have locations in Portland.

Customer Experience

📊 Our rating: 5/10

  • Lots of negative reviews from past customers
  • A high number of theft complaints
  • Complaints about damaged goods and low payouts
Show more

The high number of reviewers complaining about theft made us knock down Master Movers’s customer experience score.

Masters Movers reviews are decent overall (it gets a 4.4 on Facebook, 4.1 on Google, and 3.5 on Yelp). But it has way more complaints about stolen items than most companies. Some customers even claim to have caught the movers in the act of stealing.

Master Movers also gets a lot of complaints of damage to goods. And many of those customers said they felt misled because Master Movers paid much less than they expected for the damages.

For a company with fewer concerning reviews, check out Two Men and a Truck. Its Portland-area locations get similar ratings to Master Movers overall, but you probably don’t have to worry about theft.
