April & May Listings are a Hot Ticket in California:
Zillow’s data shows that homes for sale in Riverside, San Diego, Sacramento have the most positive outcome if they are listed between April 1st and April 15th. Homes in the Los Angeles metro do best if they are listed between April 15th and April 30th.
Looking to May, Zillow’s data shows that San Jose, California homes sell for more if they are listed in the first half of the month, and San Francisco homes sell faster and for more money if they are listed in the second half of the month. Here’s the breakdown for all major California metros:

- San Diego:
sell 13 days faster for 1.3% ($6,200) more money.
sell 15 days faster for 1.1% ($3,400) more money.
- San Francisco:
sell 5.5 days faster for 1.2% ($10,200) more money.
sell 17.5 days faster for 2% ($6,600) more money.
Best Time to List: April 16 – 30
- Los Angeles / Long Beach / Anaheim:
sell 15 days faster for 1% ($5,600) more money.
Best Time to List: May 1-15
- San Jose:
sell 9 days faster for 1.6% ($14,900) more money.
