But keep in mind that Pure Moving uses flat rates for long-distance moves ― not a per-mile or per-pound rate. With flat-rate pricing, you shouldn’t get any surprise fees at the end of your move. Plus, reviews suggest Pure Moving is worth the cost.

Pure Moving company includes movers, a truck, shrink wrap, and blankets in its pricing. It also includes wardrobe boxes, which is a nice add-on most companies charge more for. Plus, Pure Moving offers a 7% discount when you pay with cash.

Customer experience

📊 Our rating: 5/5

  • Very positive customer reviews
  • A handful of complaints about speed

Pure Moving Company earns top-notch customer reviews ― better than many other long-distance moving companies we’ve reviewed. It has a full 5 stars on Yelp (with more than 1,000 reviews) and 4.9 out of 5 stars on Google. Those high reviews are similar for all locations. Pure Moving Company SF and Pure Moving Seattle earn just as positive of reviews at its home location in LA.

Customers rave about Pure Moving, praising hard-working crews, polite customer service, and easy booking. People also say Pure movers took great care of their belongings, wrapping up furniture and handling boxes.

We saw virtually no damage complaints in the reviews. The few complaints we did see simply that Pure movers worked too slowly. So you can expect a great experience with Pure Moving based on what prior customers have to say.

📊 Our rating: 5/5

  • Up-to-date licensing and insurance
  • No formal complaints in past four years
  • No safety issues
Show more

We have zero concerns about Pure Moving’s credibility. It has current licensing with the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT), the California Public Utility Commission, and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Pure Moving carries current insurance, and we didn’t see any notable safety problems.

Even better, we didn’t spot any formal consumer complaints against Pure Moving on the U.S. DOT or state mover database. Most moving companies we review have at least a few complaints. And Pure Moving has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Pure Moving Company has more than just a good reputation ― it has the credentials that matter. You won’t have to worry about getting scammed or taken advantage of.

  • Phone booking
  • Two or three-week lead time
Show more

The Pure Moving rep we spoke with suggests booking your move at least two or three weeks in advance, though the company can sometimes accommodate same-day moves.

Like most moving companies, Pure Moving makes you talk with a rep on the phone to get a quote and set up your move. The company makes it easy, though. You can request a callback instead of waiting on hold, and the rep we spoke with was very friendly and willing to answer questions. Still, it would be nice if Pure Moving let you book online like Bellhop Movers does.

Our question: Is this moving company worth it?

We start assessing value by requesting a quote from the mover. A quote gives us a breakdown of the company’s fees (hourly rates, truck fees, etc.) and tells us how costs compare to the local and national average.

If a company’s costs are drastically higher than these averages, we can recommend more affordable movers that we’ve also thoroughly vetted. A detailed quote also gives us insight into any additional fees. For example, is packing included, or do you have to pay extra?

Customer experience

Our question: What’s the common user experience for this service?

We look up the mover’s average rating on popular review sites like Yelp, Trustpilot, and Google. Then we read as many reviews as possible to verify the rating and see if any positive or negative themes stand out.

If we notice potential red flags, like lots of damage complaints, we reach out to the customers to see if there’s a cause for concern.

There are also companies who pay people to leave positive reviews. So, if the reviews are glowing, we reach out to reviewers to see if they’re real customers.

Our question: Is this company a legitimate business?

Unfortunately, moving scams are fairly common. Lots of people have experienced losing their deposit, movers never showing up, and companies outright stealing their personal items.

To check a company’s credibility, we look for things like Department of Transportation registration, active insurance, and licensing with the appropriate state authorities.

Then we look at sites like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to check the mover’s accreditation, rating, and any unresolved formal complaints against them.

If all the credibility signals check out, then we give the business a high credibility rating. If something seems off, we reach out to the company and former customers for comment.

Our question: How bookable is this moving service?

To check if the company can typically accommodate a customer’s desired moving date, we ask the company how soon we’d be able to move. Then we ask if the date is flexible.

We also comb Department of Transportation records to see how many trucks and drivers the mover has. A small fleet is a sign that the mover has limited capacity. The company might not be able to handle lots of moves during a busy season.
